Happily, the company I work for is about to move from Mountain View, CA (home of Google, the most Pho noodle houses outside of Vietnam) to my fair city of San Francisco. This means no more driving, no more cursing the traffic on the 101, and no more radio. I'll be commuting using good 'ol Muni again, and that means I'll be plugging in and drowning out the noise of other commuters (morning gas, throat clearing, mind-numbingly vapid conversation) using some slick-ass headphones like these from Urbanears. The only question? What color?!

They're available at Moxsie.com

My boyfriend's car is back after a little trip to the Outer Mission (allegedly) and a $350 tow truck ride. Get this: apparently in SF, if your car gets stolen, the helpful city will retrieve it, tow it to their impound lot, and generously charge you $400 for said towing and storage. Why the victim of theft would need to pay that kind of money to get their stolen property back is beyond me, but I smell a racket. If only I weren't so sleepy, I would launch into an undercover mission and expose the whole scam. What is this, freaking Cold War Russia??

And speaking of Cold War Russia (you see how I did that? I'm amazing) I snatched up the perfect fur hat at Black and Brown, then decided the wood-paneled study in my parents' house was the perfect location to photograph it. I feel like a sephardic version of Julie Christie.

Her face is exquisite. How is it possible for someone to look this hot without eyebrows?

It's one of those exceptional nights when the air smells like flowers, it's unseasonably warm outside, and you find yourself affected by a curiously buoyant cheeriness. In the words of my man Ice Cube, today was a good day.

And just to add to the awesomeness, here are some pictures of cool nails. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to download Chris Brown's new mixtape and recline with my new copy of Lucky Magazine.

It's been a bittersweet day. My boyfriend woke up this morning to find that his car had been stolen overnight. It's a surreal feeling to find one of your hats sitting forlornly in the road where your car should be.

Of course, being the sweet, perfect angel that he is, he still trekked down the road to pick me up some flowers, and I made beignets and coffee and we walked to the top of Bernal hill and sat on a grassy knoll and contemplated life (and its inevitable curve-balls). Then we ate a ridiculously late lunch and skipped out on our dinner reservation to go to a cavernous wine bar where we feasted on triple-cream cow's milk cheese and dates.

All in all a good day, made even sweeter by the fact that I spent it with my love on Valentine's day.

But then again, I still have a car to go to work in on Tuesday.

FACT: Chloe Sevigny could step out in a pair of over-the-knee boots made entirely from dead babies and I would still swoon.

I'm loving her new hair. Not ready to let mine go yet but this is getting tucked away in my hairspiration folder STAT.

Today is a sad day for the fashion industry. Lee McQueen, the creative visionary and madcap genius behind the Alexander McQueen label, has died. Although he leaves behind a stunning oeuvre, it breaks my heart to think about what was still to come, what has been lost forever.

McQueen and Captain Phil Harris in one week. This sucks.

I mean, life could be worse. I could NOT have brand-spankin' new OTK flat suede boots from Jeffrey Campbell. It could be Monday. I could have a giant pimple on my neck.
We could be out of toilet paper.

Given everything, everything is fine.

I am reclaiming my weekends for ME. And guess what? The world hasn't imploded yet. So all those bunk-ass theories about needing to dedicate every waking second to work are just that--bunk ass theories. Work smart first, and hard only when necessary. You'll live longer.

In other news, a gluttonous weekend shopping spree produced a belt, 3 gilded picture frames, a drape-back silk shirt, and a mink stole--all for a hair over $70. The mink stole was discovered in a high-end consignment store in San Jose called Our Secret, which is worth a visit for anyone living in the bay area. Although most of the pieces are geared towards a slightly more mature clientele (case-in-point: the St. John selection is MASSIVE) a little digging will uncover a pair of unworn Gucci boots, a kelly green Bottega Veneta bag, or a mint condition mink stole for 60 bucks. The treasures are hidden but the payoff is spectacular. I highly recommend.

It's Thursday. I'm in a weird mood. I'm tired. And it's raining. Uuuuhhhhhhh.

I'm sort of feeling this whole boho/70's/hippie vibe like it's 2005 all over again. I think the people in the pictures above are all pulling it off really well. Yes Sienna, even you.

Fun fact: Shannon, the lovely lady in the center bottom row (and gatekeeper to the magical wonderland known as Dirty Hair Halo) is an old friend of mine from waaay back. I'm pretty sure we made many an adolescent memory together sticking tampons up our noses and going on ghost hunts in my parents' house. And here we are, grown-up, hot, moderately self-absorbed, and suddenly brought together by a mutual love of fashion. Life is so wacky sometimes.

In a feeble and amateurish attempt to cop the styles above, I will need the following items in my aresnal immediately:
