THE OSCARS (what they should have worn)

L to R: Jessica Chastain in Marchesa, Amanda Seyfried in Elie Saab, Anne Hathaway in Christian Dior Spring Couture, Jennifer Lawrence in Ulyana Sergeenko and Naomi Watts in Zac Posen

The Oscars were a big fat HO HUM when it came to fashion this year. I mean, don't get me wrong, everyone looked...pretty. Pretty and safe. There were enough pale strapless fishtail confections to blanket the Dolby Theater and not one risk-taker (unless of course you count John Travolta's lace front wig). If I were styling the stars, they would have walked the carpet in looks decidedly less forgettable. The Spring and Fall runways provided plenty of non-pale, non-champagne colored options for red carpet wear, so I fail to see why every starlet on Oscar night opted for such snooze worthy "safe" and "pretty" looks. I can honestly say there wasn't one standout in the bunch. Everyone looked great, but nothing moved me. So I photoshopped people's heads (poorly) onto a few of my favorite looks from the Spring Couture and Fall Ready-to-Wear collections. Voila!

  1. I actually didn't mind Amanda Seyfried's dress, it was really pretty (and custom!) And Jennifer had to (well...not haaaad) wear Dior because she's their new spokeswoman, ha ha
But all of these would have been amazing choices too!

  2. love your choice for amanda! i wasn't bowled over by her mcqueen dress sadly.. i wish anne hathaway had chosen a different dress too as well as jennifer lawrence..her dress was so big and seemed impractical and uncomfortable.. anywho.. charlize was imo the best dressed!
great PS job u did ;-)

  3. Great post!! I love love the Ulyana Sergeenko!

    Love Love

  4. I spent the Oscars in a car driving back from Tahoe so I didn't get to see any of it, but it seems like half the ladies could have worn better dresses. In fact, I saw a picture of Marion Cotillard wearing that yellow Dior dress at another award show and she looked stunning!!

  5. You are good at dressing, definitely! I like casual dressing, especially addicted to leather jackets, just get a new jacket on and I really want to recommend it for its style and quality.
